FaZe Clan
Huge slayer in respawn despite loss
January 13, 2018
Attach had good-to-great respawn rounds, but FaZe Clan were swept anyway by Lightning Pandaz on the second day of Pool A play at CWL New Orleans.
ANALYSIS
Attach had a Round 1 Hardpoint performance for the ages -- but they still came up just short. Lightning Pandaz got out to a fast start and stunned FaZe, with everyone but Attach struggling. Attach was excellent and his strong play continued as his teammates woke up and began to play well. He ended up with a whopping 37 kills in the round and was unstoppable. He was stopped often, however, in Round 2 Search & Destroy -- he was quite bad in the round, and FaZe Clan were beaten rather handily. With their backs against the wall in Round 3 Capture the Flag, FaZe Clan continued to struggle. Their first half was rough but Attach and FaZe woke up for an excellent second half that forced overtime. However, they could not score in overtime and were swept.
Finds massive kills but fails to find the win
January 13, 2018
Attach gave a monster performance in a 3-1 loss to Team Kaliber on Day 1 of CWL New Orleans.
ANALYSIS
Attach continues to be the scariest and most consistent part of his team. However, FaZe Clan, and even Attach himself, sometimes fail to follow up on the advantages he gives the team. Round 3 Capture the Flag was where most of Attach's wins went down. He opened strong and fast with a flag capture two minutes into the game, a capture that was only possible thanks to ZooMa and Preistah clutching fights. This gave Attach Scorestreaks and his team point advantage. But when it came time to use those streaks, Attach whiffed them. Attach burned his Glide Bomb in the final seconds of the first half in a bizarre attempt at the flag pull, while he quickly downed his Fighter Pilot in the second half by crashing the plane into a tower.
Slays and stumbles
December 17, 2017
Attach gave an uneven and unpredictable performance in a 1-3 loss to eUnited on Day 2 of the Northern Showdown.
ANALYSIS
Attach was both FaZe Clan's strongest player and their weakest. He could win maps, or he could lose them for his team. In Round 3 Capture the Flag on Flak Tower, for example, Attach dropped a 7/16 KD on an SMG-heavy map. With Attach's SMG to push out lanes, FaZe Clan struggled to make any kind of progress. Then in Round 4 Hardpoint on Ardennes Forest, Attach almost carried his team to victory alongside Replays. Attach came into his own on the third set of rotation by scoring a five killstreak that gave him full Scorestreaks. This gave FaZe Clan the chance to break the hill on the third East Road before tying up the game.
Flounders in swift series
December 17, 2017
Attach slipped up in a strange loss to Ground Zero on Day 1 of the Northern Showdown.
ANALYSIS
Simply put, Attach didn't do well this series. Neither strong or weak, Attach gave little map presence as FaZe Clan's strategy of divide-and-conquer fell apart. Ground Zero made sure to stick close to each other in order to prevent being outmaneuvered by FaZe Clan, a team that spreads out in order to flank. This forced Attach into some sticky situations in Round 1 Hardpoint and Round 3 Capture the Flag as became uneven for him. For example, in Round 1 Hardpoint on London Docks, Attach struggled to break second Crane and third Warehouse because of how tightly Ground Zero stacked on top of each other, putting himself into difficult 1-vs.-2 matches.
Lockdowns the objective
December 11, 2017
Attach provided invaluable support in a 3-1 comeback victory over eUnited on Day 3 of CWL Dallas.
ANALYSIS
Attach never made the big stand-out plays like Replays, but he managed to secure the objective, and the series win, with some careful coordination. This coordination was especially impressive considering FaZe Clan's hectic strategies. FaZe Clan never stopped roaming the map, keeping a rigid eUnited on their toes. Attach was careful to make sure never to overextend from his teammates despite FaZe Clan's constant movement, seen best in the first half of Round 3 Capture the Flag on Ardennes Forest. Attach caught Prestinni while taking an unconventional route through the ruins with the flag, not only securing the flag capture but stopping a counter-capture in the process.
Huge plays lead to big win
August 13, 2017
Attach put together a 55/41 KD in FaZe Clan's win over Infused that put them into the winners semifinals at Call of Duty Champs 2017.
ANALYSIS
Attach was on top of his game in this series, which was a huge boon to his team in the lopsided win. He started off with a blistering performance in Round 1 Hardpoint that saw him rotating extremely well to lock up hardpoint after hardpoint on the way to a big win. He kept this up in Search & Destroy where he put together an 11/6 KD that gave his team a 2-0 lead. In that round, he found a massive 1-vs-3 clutch in Game 8 that tied things up and put them in the driver's seat for the win. He continued to play well into Round 3 Uplink where he picked up the first dunk to give his team an early lead before tallying another later on in what was a ridiculous 13-0 sweep in the round.
Tears through Hardpoint, falters elsewhere
August 13, 2017
Attach decimates Hardpoints with a 68/61 KD in a loss to Rise Nation on Day 4 of the CWL Championships.
ANALYSIS
Attach conquered Hardpoint, but Search & Destroy is what wins playoffs series. Along with Enable and Gunless, Attach was a master at Hardpoint, a game mode that focuses almost purely on slaying, something all of FaZe Clan is excellent at. Round 1 Hardpoint saw Attach drop a 21/12 KD and a 19/13 KD in Round 4 Hardpoint, simply melting through Rise Nation in both rounds. But where he really faltered was in tactics. Rise Nation was able to severely outplay Attach as his opponents let him run into their sights. It seemed that Attach and FaZe Clan were blissfully unaware of positioning on the map, opening the map for Rise Nation to take complete control. As a result, Attach falls out of the running for the championship.
Fears the opposition
August 13, 2017
Attach turns skittish with a 36/45 KD in a defeat by OpTic Gaming on Day 4 of the CWL Championships.
ANALYSIS
Round 1 Hardpoint and Round 2 Search & Destroy were losses of epic proportions. To put it bluntly, OpTic Gaming were the better team and Attach looked amateurish. As a result, Attach dropped to the Loser's Brackets. In Game 4 of Round 2 Search & Destroy on Throwback, Attach seemed especially skittish of shooting Karma even after Karma put himself in a terrible position out in the open. Karma then quickly got away with no challenges. Attach did rebound slightly in Round 3 Uplink on Precinct. Early trades allowed Attach to help Enable score a cushy lead, but when OpTic Gaming played faster in the second half, Attach was unable to defend and assist his team.
Supports the slaying
August 11, 2017
Attach backed up his team in a 3-1 win over Str8 Rippin' on Day 3 of the 2017 CWL Championships.
ANALYSIS
Attach stuck close to Gunless as Enable and ZooMa led the charge. While not as loud as his other teammates, Attach was excellent at bringing constant pressure to Str8 Rippin'. This was best seen in Round 3 Uplink on Frost when Attach always seemed to know exactly where to poke Str8 Rippin' to draw their attention. His harassment allowed his teammates to sweep in and takes kills, such as when Enable was able to drop a triple kill that clinched the round. Attach always was instrumental on securing plays, acting as drone carrier to pass to Enable or even make a dunk of his own in the second half.
Puts the team on his back
August 9, 2017
Attach tallied a 67/66 KD in FaZe Clan's win against Allegiance on Day 1 of the 2017 Call of Duty World Championship.
ANALYSIS
Attach took a bit to get going in this series, but once he did, boy was he electric. He rotated well in Round 1 Hardpoint, but couldn't connect for many kills. Round 2 Search & Destroy was when he put in work, however. He opened with four kills in the first two games to get out to a 2-0 start, and then never let up on his way to a stellar 9/3 KD in the easy win. We won't talk about his 19/29 showing in Round 3 Uplink, as all of FaZe seemed unable to get anything at all going in this game. Once Round 4 Hardpoint rolled around, however, Attach was again on top of his game. He started with a six-killstreak to get his team out the gates on the right foot. While Allegiance fought back to keep things even early on, Attach continued to slay with impunity to put the team on his back for the 250-150 win.
Tethers FaZe Clan's spawns
July 29, 2017
Attach anchors FaZe Clan with a 64/81 KD in a tight loss to OpTic Gaming on Day 2 of the CWL Playoffs.
ANALYSIS
Attach was a solid anchor, but most of his plays where lost in the chaos of this series. With big plays coming from both sides, Attach was forced into some difficult situations that FaZe Clan lacked the coordination to clutch. For example, in Game 8 of Round 5 Search & Destroy on Throwback Attach failed to spot out a flank from Crimsix. This allowed Crimsix to clutch an important 1-vs-2 against ZooMa and Attach, all because Attach was a slightly late to cover his flank. Or in Game 7 when Attach attempted to disarm the bomb in the open, making him an easy target for Scump.
Mild KD numbers in win over Splyce
July 29, 2017
Attach racked up a 76/73 KD during Saturday's CWL Global Pro League Stage 2 Playoffs loser bracket win over Splyce.
ANALYSIS
While Attach's performance against Splyce was nondescript compared to his teammates, it's tough to argue he wasn't impactful alongside his similarly aggressive teammates Gunless and ZooMa. Truthfully his biggest individual play likely came in Game 4, as he expertly dodged long enough to avoid a Bombardment from Splyce near the Commissary, helping FaZe maintain the lead. With 1:45 of Hardpoint time in Game 1 and two dunks that essentially amounted to FaZe "pouring it on" in Game 3 Uplink, Attach was a jack-of-all trades in the pivotal win.
Mostly solid in loss
July 28, 2017
Attach had a quality showing in the 3-2 loss to Team EnVyUs on Day 1 of the Stage 2 Playoffs. The loss dropped FaZe Clan into the Losers Bracket.
ANALYSIS
FaZe Clan came out on a roll, winning Round 1 Hardpoint to the tune of 250-87. Attach was excellent in the round, going 23/10, with 1:29 on the objective. He dominated in what was a dominating win for FaZe Clan. However, he would slow down to a halt in a rough 6-4 loss in Round 2 Search & Destroy. FaZe Clan dominated Round 3 Uplink, and then were dominated in Round 4 Hardpoint. In the third round, Attach had a solid four points and 23/21 KD in the 13-4 win. In the fourth round, they were utterly destroyed -- they were down 140-11 and 200-45 before losing 250-45. Attach went 14/17 with 22 second on the objective, which is not bad, considering the circumstances of the round. Round 5 Search & Destroy saw Attach and FaZe Clan start with a bang. He had the final kill in Game 3, Game 4 and Game 5, giving his team a 4-1 lead, and giving him a five streak. However, they would go on to lose the round in 11 games.
Search & Destroy star in win
July 9, 2017
Attach had a great Search & Destroy in the sweep victory over eLevate on Day 3 of Group Blue.
ANALYSIS
Attach started off with a quiet Round 1 Hardpoint. The round was close in the beginning, but FaZe ran away with it and made it a laugher. Attach took the foot off of the gas pedal, and went 10/10 with 1:21 on the objective. He turned up in Round 2 Search & Destroy, notching the final kill in Games 3 and 4. He also had a big role in the Game 7 win that cliched the round -- he had three kills in the game, all but finishing off the round for FaZe Clan. Round 3 Uplink was a dominating display for FaZe Clan, as they shut out eLevate until the last minute of the second half. Attach had a quality showing, going 22/19, with two points in the round.
Big Search & Destroy in win
July 8, 2017
Attach came up big in round two in the sweep win over eLevate on Day 2 of Group Blue.
ANALYSIS
Round 1 Hardpoint was a slugfest, to say the least, with FaZe Clan edging out the win 250-229. It was back and forth, with each team trading blows until the final seconds. Attach was not the star, but he had a solid game, specifically on the objective. He had a KD ratio of 19/19, but had a whopping 1:47 on the objective. Round 2 Search & Destroy saw Attach come up large. He got the final kill in Games 4, 6 and 8. In that last game, Attach used his Trinity Rocket to get one kill, and immediately got the final kill to secure the 2-0 lead. Attach was very quiet in Round 3 Uplink, but it did not stop FaZe Clan from winning 8-3. He went 14/24, with two points, in the round -- while he struggled, FaZe Clan as a whole had a pretty easy time securing the sweep.
