Mindfreak
All over the place in loss
August 16, 2018
BuZZO had an up-and-down performance during Mindfreak's 3-1 win over Red Reserve on Day 1 of CWL Champs.
ANALYSIS
BuZZO certainly wasn't playing his best throughout this entire series, but he certainly had his moments. He went an even 7/7 in Search & Destroy before popping off during Capture the Flag. This was the closest round of the entire match as the teams were locked into a 2-2 stalemate for most of the second half. They would eventually come up with the game-winning capture late in the round on the back of BuZZO and his 34/18 KD. He faded back a bit in the final round, however, as Red Reserve picked up the win.
Emerges form the shadows
July 12, 2018
BuZZO stepped up against Rise Nation in a 3-2 loss on Thursday of the CWL Global Pro League Stage 2.
ANALYSIS
BuZZO was able to step up to the level of a limp Rise Nation, though he wasn't able to close out against his opponents, in almost typical Mindfreak fashion. Despite failing to close out, BuZZO played a solid game against his opponents thanks to his consistent slaying. In every round, expect Search & Destroy rounds, BuZZO was able to score at least a Glide Bomb. This was key in Round 4 Hardpoint where Mindfreak was barely able to win out rotations. BuZZO's above slaying and Glide Bomb was able to secure late-game hills to take the series to a Round 5 Search & Destroy.
Nearly swings a round
June 6, 2018
BuZZO couldn't make the comeback against Rise Nation in a 3-1 loss on Wednesday of the CWL Global Pro League Stage 2.
ANALYSIS
BuZZO and Mindfreak had to outplay Rise Nation rather than outslay them. And while they had a solid gameplan, BuZZO struggled to enact it at points. In Round 1 Hardpoint this involved attempted to counter Rise Nation by flooding the point with players, thanks in part to BuZZO's spawn control. He wasn't able to get the most favorable spawns for his team, but he was able to secure spawn points near the point that helped Mindfreak organize pinches around hills. BuZZO himself would get a six killstreak in the final few moments of the round, but he was unable to continue slaying and controlling the map at the same time while Rise Nation pressured him.
More bad than good in loss
June 6, 2018
BuZZO saw his fair share of struggles in the 3-1 loss to OpTic Gaming on Day 1, Week 4, of CWL Global Pro League, Stage 2.
ANALYSIS
Round 2 Search & Destroy was BuZZO's best round, and it was the only round they won. He got them off on the right foot, netting the final kill in Game 1, and Mindfreak rolled from there. They won 6-3, and he, Denz and Shockz were an unstoppable trio. He also finished off the win, netting the final kill in Game 9. The rest of his performance was rather subpar, however. His second-best round was Round 3 Capture the Flag, as he went 18/18 in the round. He struggled mightily in the Hardpoint rounds, going 16/30 in Round 1 Hardpoint and 10/19 in Round 4 Hardpoint, struggling to slay with two strong performances from OpTic Gaming.
Some good, some bad in loss
May 30, 2018
BuZZO had his ups and downs in the 3-2 win over Tainted Minds on Day 1, Week 3, of CWL Global Pro League, Stage 2.
ANALYSIS
Round 1 Hardpoint saw BuZZO play a solid game but really pick his interactions carefully. He went 14/9 for the round, adding 1:16 on the objective to that performance. He hugged the objective in this round, and added in key kills behind his teammates to help keep their map control. It was a quality performance. He saw struggles after that, though. Round 2 Search & Destroy was a bad 6-1 loss, and BuZZO really struggled; he could not stand up to the strong slaying done by Tainted Minds. Round 3 Capture the Flag was similar. He went 17/19 as they lost 5-0. Their offense was absolutely shut down by Tainted Minds. Even in their next round win, Round 4 Hardpoint, BuZZO struggled. He went 14/19 in the round, and had just 40 seconds on the objective. Round 5 Search & Destroy saw him play well again, as he was a key depth piece behind Denz and Fighta's leading performances.
Falls flat with poor gunplay
March 10, 2018
BuZZO struggled to slay well in a 3-2 loss to newcomers Monaco eSports on Day 2 of CWL Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
BuZZo had a rough series even as the rest of his team popped off. Sticking as his team's core engage, he just couldn't slay targets alongside Shockz, even in the late-game where Mindfreak usually thrives. This is also despite Mindfreak playing two rounds on Saint Maire Du Mont, arguably their best map. BuZZO seemed lost in most engagements as he failed to check his flanks consistently or weaken his opponents for his teammates. For example, in Round 1 Hardpoint on Ardennes Forest, BuZZO rotated early to the second cave but was almost immediately pushed out in a 1-vs-2 fight.
Fights aggressively in win
February 27, 2018
BuZZO played to Team Kaliber's level in a 3-1 win in Week 6 of the CWL Global Pro League, Division A.
ANALYSIS
BuZZO and Mindfreak have only improved since last week. Learning from his defeat last weekend, BuZZO played aggressively alongside Shockz and exceeded Team Kaliber's slaying levels. BuZZO challenged Team Kaliber head-on in Round 1 Hardpoint and Round 4 Hardpoint with the goal of stealing as much time as possible. This allowed BuZZO to build a massive lead that Team Kaliber couldn't overcome.
Isn't able to push out
February 21, 2018
BuZZO struggles to get much done in a 3-0 loss to Rise Nation on Week 5, Day 2 of the CWL Global Pro League, Division A.
ANALYSIS
BuZZO knew he couldn't face Rise Nation in a head-on teamfight, so instead he tried to lay back with his team and pick apart Rise Nation from afar. However, Rise Nation is still a threat even when a team is behind cover. Because of Mindfreak playing for range, BuZZO had little opportunity to make plays with his SMG since he couldn't commit to fights. While this kept the game close, BuZZO could never build a lead for his team. Basically, Rise Nation just out-gunned BuZZO.
Lots of good in loss
January 31, 2018
BuZZO was individually good, but Mindfreak still fell to Team Kaliber 3-2 on Thursday's CWL Global Pro League Stage 1 match.
ANALYSIS
BuZZO had an excellent start to this match, but Mindfreak did not. They were dominated, barely getting to the 100-point mark by way of a excellent late push. BuZZO was the only player on Mindfreak to be consistently good in the round. He ended with 30 kills, leading the lobby, but it was not enough to make a dent in Team Kaliber's lead. BuZZO was excellent in Round 2 Search & Destroy, getting the final kill in Games 2 and 3 en route to a 6-2 round win. They had an easy win in Round 3 Capture the Flag again, holding Team Kaliber to just one flag cap. BuZZO was not the team leader he was in the first round, but he was very good. He had a 17/13 KD and two flag caps, providing excellent play in a more supportive role. Round 5 Search & Destroy was a frustrating round for Mindfreak. They could not get a consistent performer in the round, with their players running hot and cold. Team Kaliber were more consistent, and rode that to a win.
Tons of struggles in loss
January 25, 2018
BuZZO struggled throughout the entirety of the sweep loss to eRa on Thursday, during the CWL Global Pro League Stage 1 season.
ANALYSIS
BuZZO was bad for most of this match, starting from Round 1 Hardpoint, outside of a stretch in the middle of the round that got them some serious Hardpoint time and got them back into the round. He ended the round with a lopsided 19/33 KD, and just 30 seconds of Hardpoint time. Round 2 Search & Destroy saw him get the final kill in Game 5, but stayed in a rather average position outside of that. BuZZO had a similar performance in the defensive 2-1 loss in Round 3 Capture the Flag, going 16/25 in the round. Overall, he just could not slay with eRa, getting outgunned at every turn, and his statline reflected that.
Subpar respawn surround, good S&D
January 25, 2018
Search & Destroy was BuZZO's only good round in the sweep loss to Rise Nation on the Wednesday match for the CWL Global Pro League Stage 1.
ANALYSIS
Round 1 Hardpoint and Round 3 Capture the Flag were both blowouts for Mindfreak, and subpar performances for BuZZO. The first round was the best of the two, with him balancing ice cold stretches with hot ones, to give him a 18/19 KD overall. The third round was rough; they were shutout and did not even come close to getting a point, as BuZZO went a terrible 11/21 KD to punctuate it. BuZZO was excellent in Round 2 Search & Destroy. He paced Mindfreak, and at one point rattled off three final kills in a row (Games 4 through 6). Despite his strong showing, they could not pull off a round win.
Mindfreak earn pool play spot at CWL Dallas
November 27, 2017
BuZZO and the rest of Mindfreak have earned a spot in pool play at CWL Dallas with their recent online 2K win.
ANALYSIS
That makes three straight 2K wins for Mindfreak, as BuZZO and company managed to knock off Excite's new team over the weekend to secure first place. There's certainly not a hotter team in the APAC region than Mindfreak, but it'll be interesting to see whether this unit can have any sort of international success, given much of North America region still seems like it's in the "feeling out" process of the new season.
Strong shots hampered by inconsistent rounds
August 9, 2017
BuZZO gives an inconsistent, lackluster performance in his loss to eUnited on Day 1 of the CWL Championships.
ANALYSIS
BuZZO may be one of the Asian-Pacific region's premier slayers, but his slays didn't hold water in a rocky series against eUnited. The team had a slow start in Round 1 Hardpoint on Breakout. By the second rotation, BuZZO did make some strong plays on the second Graveyard hill. He broke the hill with a double kill, only to quickly drop in a counter pinch on eUnited's push. He'd also break the third Cell Block with a great triple kill, holding Mindfreak in the game. But by Round 2 Search & Destroy, BuZZO slowed down despite clutching up Game 3 for his team.
Slips and fails to do much
July 2, 2017
BuZZO falls behind his team with a 38/52 KD in a loss to Luminosity Gaming on Day 3 of Group Red.
ANALYSIS
BuZZO continues to lag behind the rest of his team as he once again scores the lowest KD of his team. The whole weekend wasn't particularly kind to BuZZO. But on the other hand, BuZZO hasn't shown much this weekend to show his competitive spirit. Round 1 Hardpoint on Breakout was an utter stomping with BuZZO scoring a 10/18 KD. Seeing his slow game, he acted as bait for Luminosity Gaming to lure them into traps. This worked in Games 3 through 5, but then Luminosity Gaming began to group together. BuZZO and Mindfreak couldn't weather that kind of assault.
Mediocre performance in loss to Fnatic
July 2, 2017
BuZZO seemed to phone in an average performance on Day 2 of Group Red, only netting an overall KD of 52/63 as Mindfreak lost to Fnatic 3-0.
ANALYSIS
BuZZO clearly wasn't feeling it on Day 2 against Fnatic, and it showed in his KD. He started off strong in the opening salvos of Round 1 Hardpoint, but that momentum quickly dwindled as he wound up negative in that round with a 25/30 KD. In Round 2 Search & Destroy, he did get the best KD of his team, but that's not saying much as it was negative again with 8/9, as Mindfreak needlessly sacrificed an early game lead. BuZZO was put out of his misery in Round 3 Uplink, where he only notched a KD of 19/24 and failed to score any uplink points.
