Unable to stay composed in Game 2

cajunb finished with a 25/37 KD at DreamHack Masters Malmo grand finals with a 2-0 loss to G2 Esports.
ANALYSIS
In Game 1 on Inferno, cajunb had a slow start with a 5-0 deficit early, but his Round 6 double kill hold on the A-bombsite to secure the first round of the half. However, the remainder of the half was a struggle individually on the defense for cajunb, as North settled for an 11-4 deficit at the half. The second half started with a pair of G2 wins but cajunb contributed to the five-round win streak to get the team back in contention. In Round 24, cajunb picked up the AWP to get the double entry on the B-bombsite to secure the round. It still wasn't enough, however, as they fell late in the half to lose Game 1 16-12. cajunb started the second half 3-0 until G2 snapped back to tie. cajunb picked up the AWP to hold off for four rounds to take the lead 7-3. His triple kill on the B-bombsite served the eight round for the team lead going into the second 8-7. Unfortunately, cajunb fell hard in the second half on the offense as he was unable to penetrate the G2 defense for a 16-9 loss in the grand finals.
Unable to break the shields of G2

aizy went 26-40 in the grand finals of DreamHack Masters Malmo with a 2-0 loss to G2 Esports.
ANALYSIS
aizy had a rather quiet first half on Inferno of Game 1 with a 5-0 deficit to start. Unable to consistently keep an economy nor pick up round wins, aizy managed to help get just four rounds out of G2 for an 11-4 half. aizy had a better second half with the quick entry kills that turned into round wins along with a five-round win streak to close the gap to 13-9. However, allowing shox of G2 save an AWP in Round 22 earned G2 the win, closing out Game 1 with a 16-12 win. aizy started Game 2 of Cobblestone with a 3-0 start on a strong B-bombsite hold. Although G2 came back to tie the score at 3-3, two key holds on the B-bombsite and Long A from aizy served North to take the 7-3 lead. With an 8-7 lead going into the second, aizy struggled offensively to get past the G2 defense for a 16-9 Game 2 loss in the grand finals sweep at the hands of G2.
Needed more rounds to stay alive

k0nfig picked up a 45/33 KD in the grand finals of DreamHack Masters Malmo with a 2-0 loss to G2 Esports.
ANALYSIS
With a 5-0 deficit to start his series with G2 Esports, k0nfig did what he had to do to get his team back into contention with a quad kill on the B-bombsite hold to earn the 7-2 score. He came up short of winning one more round in Round 15 with a failed triple kill retake for the 11-4 half. After giving up the pistol and one eco round, k0nfig forced his way into the bombsites picking up the entry kills to earn a five-round win streak to bring it to 13-9. However, allowing shox to save the AWP crushed his chances to take Game 1 with a 16-12 loss on Inferno. In Game 2, k0nfig started with a firm 3-0 hold on the B-bombsite before G2 came right back to tie. Switching a few positions in the later rounds found k0nfig getting a key hold on the A-bombsite to pick up four straight 7-3. Although G2 thrashed for four more rounds to settle the half 8-7. Unfortunately for k0nfig, the second half was a struggle with his only round won being a double entry into the B-bombsite using a pistol to secure the round with a plant. k0nfig finished runner-up with a 16-9 loss in Game 2 of the grand finals.
Unable to lead the offense to victory

MSL gathered a 36/37 KD in the grand finals of DreamHack Masters Malmo with a 2-0 loss to G2 Esports.
ANALYSIS
MSL had a rocky start to Game 1 on Inferno with a 5-0 deficit early. Although finally winning a round in Round 6, MSL struggled to hold off the offense of G2 for an 11-4 half. After giving up the first two rounds, MSL paved the way for five rounds to cut the deficit to a 13-9 scoreline. However, they were unable to track down shox, who saved an AWP, resultint in a 16-12 Game 1 loss. MSL had a firm start on the defense for North with a 3-0 start, however, G2 rallied back to settle the tie 3-3. In the following round, MSL had a strong triple kill hold on the B-bombsite to break the tie and surge for four rounds 7-3. G2 managed to pick up three rounds but MSL came out on top with an 8-7 lead. However, he was unable to carry the momentum into the second half only winning one round in the 16-9 Game 2 loss on Cobblestone of the grand finals.

ANALYSIS
valde kicked off the grand finals on Inferno with a 5-0 deficit to start. However, his Round 6 heroics with a double kill hold on the A-bombsite earned the first round of the half. valde struggled on the defense to hold off a very aggressive G2, only winning a pair of rounds late for an 11-4 deficit at the half. After giving up the pistol and the eco round, valde contributed to a five-round win streak to reduce the deficit to 13-9. Although G2 came striking back to take map point after saving the AWP in Round 22 and eventually closing out Game 1 16-12. In Game 2, valde secured the pistol and the two anti-ecos for a 3-0 start but G2 came right back at the door with three of its own. valde then stood strong in the mid game to hold G2 to four rounds to set the tone 7-3. G2 responded with three rounds to settle the half 8-7. With the striking come back late in the first half, G2 blew away valde and his offense to win nine out of ten rounds in the second half to secure the series 16-9, sending valde's bags packing.

apEX came out with a 37/38 KD in the grand finals of DreamHack Masters Malmo with a 2-0 win over North.
ANALYSIS
apEX had a solid first half start on Inferno for the offense with a staggering 5-0 lead. The remainder of the first half was all work on the offense as apEX picked up several entry kills to get the bomb plants to safely secure an 11-4 lead at the half. apEX started the second half with a 2-vs-2 win and defuse to secure the pistol. After taking the first two rounds, North contested with five straight to lessen the lead to 13-9. Although an AWP saved in Round 22 allowed G2 to reach map point and have apEX close out the 16-12 Game 1 win with a triple kill. In Game 2 on Cobblestone, apEX had a slow start on the offense with a 3-0 deficit early. However, apEX contributed to three more to tie the game 3-3 but North resisted and won four more. Down 7-3, apEX teamed up with NBK to take three straight to settle the score at the half 8-7. apEX dominated in the second half on the defense to win nine out of ten rounds to secure the series and championship 16-9.

bodyy settled with a 35/30 KD in the grand finals of DreamHack Masters Malmo in a 2-0 G2 win over North.
ANALYSIS
bodyy picked up a triple entry kill in Round 4 of the 5-0 start on Inferno and continued to press on with the aggressive offense to only spare North four rounds in the first half. With an 11-4 lead going into the second, bodyy picked up two rounds to start but North stripped his economy with five straight to cut the lead to 13-9. However, bodyy had the upper advantage with the Round 22 AWP save that secured Game 1 with a 16-12 win. A slow start to Game 2 of Cobblestone quickly turned around as he came up big in Round 6 to secure the tie 3-3 with an entry into the B-bombsite. Although North won four in a row before bodyy could return the favor with three entry kill rounds to settle the half 8-7. The second half was all defense from bodyy who won nine out of ten rounds played, including his double kill to secure the series sweep to be crowned DreamHack Masters Malmo Champions.

shox went 32/33 in the grand finals of DreamHack Masters Malmo with a 2-0 win over North.
ANALYSIS
shox played a big part in the 5-0 start on Inferno of Game 1 with a 2-vs-2 clutch in Round 2 to secure the first anti-eco round. He then closed out the streak with a double entry kill on the A-bombsite before North took the following round. shox continued to apply pressure on the defense with his aggressive entry kills to secure the first half 11-4. A 2-vs-2 retake on the B-bombsite followed by a defuse, thanks to shox, won the pistol in the second half. Although North won five in a row to cut the lead 13-9, shox saved the AWP in Round 22. With the AWP saved, shox contributed to close out Game 1 16-12. In Game 2, shox had a slow start with a 3-0 start on the Offense but quickly turned the tides with three of his own to tie 3-3. Despite a losing four more rounds to North, shox contributed to close out the first half with four rounds to make it 8-7. With the second half completely dominated by the defense of G2, shox played solid with a majority of rounds won on the B-bombsite hold 16-9 in the grand finals sweep.
AWP clutch to secure grand final series

kennyS picked up a solid 47/27 KD in the grand finals of DreamHack Masters Malmo with a 2-0 G2 win over North.
ANALYSIS
kennyS had a smooth start to his series on Inferno with a 5-0 start right off the bat. Once the AWP hit the hands of kennyS, the rest was history as he worked his way through the bombsite to get the entries and plants to secure a dominant 11-4 first half. He then secured the 2-0 start with a 2-vs-2 win on the B-bombsite for the defuse before North won five in-a-row to cut the lead to 13-9. After shox saved the AWP in Round 22, kennyS won Game 1 for his team with a map point play in Round 28 with a triple hold on the A-bombsite to secure the 16-12 Game 1 win. After a 3-0 start in Game 2 of Cobblestone, kennyS picked up the AWP and won the next three rounds with aggressive entry plays on both bomb sites to tie things up at 3-3. A string of rounds came from both sides as it was kennyS to close out the first half to lessen the deficit to one round with his 2-vs-2 win on the A-bombsite entry to secure the 8-7 half. His second half performance was outstanding with a crushing hold on the B-bombsite to win nine out of ten rounds to clinch the championship title in a 16-9 win in Game 2.
Defense blows North out of the water

NBK finished with a 32/30 KD in the grand finals of DreamHack Masters Malmo with a 2-0 sweep over North.
ANALYSIS
NBK contributed to the 5-0 start on Inferno of Game 1 with a Round 3 double entry kill into the B-bombsite. After giving up Round 6 on a fluke play, NBK came right back to equalize with a double entry into the A-bombsite to take the 6-1 lead. From there the offense dominated and came out on top 11-4. A 2-0 start in the second half almost ensured an easy win but North made it difficult after picking up five straight to make it 13-9. But then NBK pulled together a few more rounds on a slim economy to take Game 1 16-12. Game 2 started slow but NBK worked back into the lead after a 3-0 deficit to start with several quick entry-kills into the A-bombsite for the tie 3-3. North rallied back to secure four straight, but NBK played like a monster with the double entry kills on the B-bombsite to win three straight single-handedly, bringing the score to 8-7. The second half was all NBK and his team with a dominant B-bombsite hold to secure the sweep and the championship.
