Sweeps OT in split
April 15, 2018
aizy went 34/37 on Thursday in the 1-1 split against Ninjas in Pyjamas in Week 6 of ESL Pro League Season 7.
ANALYSIS
aizy had a rather rough start to their series on Thursday as NiP dominated the first half of Nuke for a 12-3 lead, however, aizy and co. came back to win 12 rounds of their own to force overtime. aizy led the way with his team-leading 25/20 KD and 84.2 ADR through all four overtime rounds to take the series lead with a 19-15 win. aizy took another rough start in the first half of Inferno on the CT-side as NiP ripped through his defenses to reach an 11-4 half. The second half wasn't any better as aizy could only find a 9/17 KD and 53.4 ADR in the 16-6 loss.
Falls short against SK
December 5, 2017
aizy managed a 13/22 KD in North's loss to SK Gaming on Day 1 of the ESL Pro League Finals.
ANALYSIS
Outside of a few nice plays here and there, North didn't have much to give as a team in this series Tuesday. He had a nice 3k to pick up a retake in Round 11, but that was an isolated round in what ended as a 16-7 loss for the Danes. They simply were unable to muster much of anything in the face of the Brazilians and will start in an 0-1 hole in Odense.
Ascends over Fnatic 2-0
October 18, 2017
aizy posted a solid 55/51 KD on Tuesday in the 2-0 win over Fnatic in ESL Pro League Season 6.
ANALYSIS
A slow start in the first half resulted in a 3-0 deficit early for aizy on Mirage; however, the rounds would soon come in full swing. aizy was on his A-game, picking up frag after frag for the defense to come back and settle the score for a 6-6 tie. The A-bombsite would remain a difficult task for Fnatic to endure, as North brought in the first half 8-7. Going into the second half, Fnatic would get the alarming 4-0 start with a tight defense early. Still getting the frags, aizy would muster up a couple of rounds before Fnatic would prevail to map-point advantage 15-10. With fire under the team, aizy would play more passive in the remainder of the half to sneak up on Fnatic to force overtime. Fnatic would hold down the first half of OT with a 2-1 score but aizy would show his defensive side to win three straight to clinch Game 1 19-17, posting a team-leading 38/26 KD and 105.2 ADR. Game 2 aizy would control the first half of Cobblestone on the offense with aggressive pushes into the B-bombsite and the dominant entry kills to take on an 8-0 lead early. However, Fnatic would finally put forces on the B-bombsite to shut down the offense for a few rounds to end the half at a 10-5 deficit. Fnatic would control the second half on the offense as aizy struggled to pick up more frags, the team had a small window to return. Breaking the 14-14 score, aizy would take map point with a strong retake in the previous round, but Fnatic would force overtime. However, Fnatic didn't stand a chance in the extra rounds as aizy would take the sweep with a 19-16 win on Cobblestone.
Closing the series on Heroic 2-0
October 15, 2017
aizy picked up a leading 46/25 KD on Wednesday in a 2-0 win over Heroic in the ELEAGUE Premier quarterfinals.
ANALYSIS
aizy picked up three quick rounds over the Heroic offense on Overpass before the Danes could pick up a few rounds to contest. However, aizy held the line for a dominant first half hold on the B-bombsite and aggressive pushes on the A-bombsite for the 10-5 lead. Heroic had a better start in the second half to pick up a couple of rounds early, but aizy then ripped through the Heroic defense with several entry-kills posting a 19/13 KD and 90.6 ADR to take Game 1 16-7. Game 2 on Mirage resulted with another great start for aizy with a pistol and an anti-eco round win. However, Heroic would contest with two more rounds won then following it up with a 4-3 lead. With a strong economy, aizy ripped through the defense to close out the first half with a 9-6 lead. He then continued to thrash the Heroic players in the second half on the defensive dominance to take Game 1 of Mirage 16-7, posting a team-leading 27/12 KD and 116.3 ADR.
Smooth start despite sweep
October 8, 2017
aizy went 34/39 on Thursday in a 2-0 loss to Astralis in ESL Pro League Season 6.
ANALYSIS
A 3-0 start for aizy on the offense of Mirage was quickly drawn out by Astralis, who would fire back with a 4-3 lead. However, aizy came close to tying the game again in Round 8 with a 1-vs-2 post-plant situation that would go in favor of Astralis. After giving up eight straight, aizy finally got the team on the board with a hyper-aggressive offense to take the B-bombsite to cut the lead in half 8-4. aizy picked up a couple of rounds getting an entry and a post-plant hold to end the half with a 9-6 deficit. aizy had a solid start on the defense in the second half to pick up the pistol and force buy in the second. However, Astralis won their gun-round and took off with the lead, leaving aizy with only a couple of rounds to scrap together for a 16-10 Mirage loss. In Game 2 aizy got the pistol round win but Astralis jumped out to a 5-1 lead with a blink of an eye. aizy then had a few firm holds on the A-bombsite and his 1-vs-1 clutch defuse on the B-bombsite to help the team win some rounds. Although Astralis' offense was hard to hold off as they took the first half 9-6 going into the second. The second half favored aizy and his offense as they picked up the first three rounds to tie the game 9-9. However, Astralis stacked up their defense and hauled out the second half with seven rounds over to win Inferno 16-10.
Consistent in split
October 7, 2017
aizy posted a 32/37 KD on Wednesday in a 1-1 split with FaZe Clan in ESL Pro League Season 6.
ANALYSIS
aizy got the start he needed on Mirage with a 2-0 shut down on the A-bombsite for the defense. Although FaZe contested early on against a shaky economy of North, the rounds started to favor aizy in the long haul. Unable to get past the defense, aizy shined in the first half holding down the line with a 10-5 score at the half. Going into the second, aizy got the entry kills needed to claim the four-round streak to come close to closing out the game, however, FaZe came back to break the defense of aizy for seven rounds. Once the economy for aizy was restored, two rounds were easily won to close out Mirage 16-12, posting an 18/20 KD and 92.5 ADR. In Game 2, aizy had a rather sluggish performance through the first half 13-2 deficit. Although the second half was a better start, it still wasn't enough to overcome FaZe in the 16-4 loss, posting a team-leading 14/17 KD and 74.0 ADR.
Unable to break the shields of G2
September 4, 2017
aizy went 26-40 in the grand finals of DreamHack Masters Malmo with a 2-0 loss to G2 Esports.
ANALYSIS
aizy had a rather quiet first half on Inferno of Game 1 with a 5-0 deficit to start. Unable to consistently keep an economy nor pick up round wins, aizy managed to help get just four rounds out of G2 for an 11-4 half. aizy had a better second half with the quick entry kills that turned into round wins along with a five-round win streak to close the gap to 13-9. However, allowing shox of G2 save an AWP in Round 22 earned G2 the win, closing out Game 1 with a 16-12 win. aizy started Game 2 of Cobblestone with a 3-0 start on a strong B-bombsite hold. Although G2 came back to tie the score at 3-3, two key holds on the B-bombsite and Long A from aizy served North to take the 7-3 lead. With an 8-7 lead going into the second, aizy struggled offensively to get past the G2 defense for a 16-9 Game 2 loss in the grand finals sweep at the hands of G2.
Key performance in Game 2
September 2, 2017
aizy gathered an even 48/48 KD on Day 2 of DreamHack Masters Malmo with a 2-1 North win over SK Gaming.
ANALYSIS
aizy had a troubled start on Cobblestone with a frustrating first half performance for the defense as SK ripped through his defense for a 12-3 finish at the half. The second half wasn't any better on offense, despite taking the only two rounds won early in the half for the 16-5 Game 1 loss. Although in Game 2, aizy had a great supportive first half with easy access to the A-bombsite to secure several bomb plants to help take the first half 8-7. The second half was another great showing with firm defensive holds on the A-bombsite and retakes for a dominant 16-8 win. The final game of the day came down to Inferno with a blitzing first half. The offense of aizy to clear the bombsites was at ease securing the first half lead 13-2. Despite giving up nine rounds in the second half, the economy was enough to hold off for three defensive rounds to take the series 16-11.
Quiet in North's 1-1 split
August 27, 2017
aizy posted a low 20/35 KD on Thursday in a 1-1 split with G2 Esports in ESL Pro League Season 6.
ANALYSIS
aizy had a quiet performance in the series split with G2 Esports as he didn't bring much to the table in Game 1 of Nuke finishing with a dismal 7/20 KD and 47.0 ADR. After the 16-9 Game 1 loss, aizy continued to struggle during Game 2 on Cobblestone despite his team thrashing G2 in the second half. Although his defense was solid with only a handful of kill to help the team force a series split in the 16-7 win.
Subpar outing in loss
July 5, 2017
aizy never got into much of a rhythm when North lost to SK Gaming on Wednesday at ESL Cologne, as he finished with a 16/22 KD.
ANALYSIS
aizy had a few clutch moments, but it was never consistent enough to really keep his team moving along. When North finally did get on board in the first half, it was thanks in part to a nice rotation on the A-site from aizy. These rounds just simply didn't come frequent enough for aizy in the game. The second half was more of the same, where he only had one kill in the first few rounds of the half. He managed to find a double entry frag in Round 24, but even that wasn't enough for North to get the win. Things aren't over for North, but they have just one life left here in Cologne.
Clutch plays keep North rolling along
July 4, 2017
aizy picked up a strong 18/12 KD in North's win over TyLoo on Tuesday at ESL Cologne.
ANALYSIS
aizy was a bevy of big plays in this game to finish out North's play on Tuesday. He picked up his team's big win in Round 4 with a 3k that cleaned things up. Even when his team was losing rounds, he managed to somehow make some big plays. In Round 6, even after the bomb detonated, he managed to come up with three kills with the MAG-7 to keep his team's economy in a good spot. He came up once again with a double in the second pistol round to again keep North moving right along. Plays like these were absolutely needed to sustain a run like North went on in this game.
Second half resurgence brings victory
June 4, 2017
aizy ended North's win against Team Liquid in the semifinals of the ESL Pro League Finals with a 45/44 KD.
ANALYSIS
aizy got off to a nice start in the first game of this series on Nuke, picking up a 3k in the opening pistol round. He continued to pour in both the damage and kills in the remainder of the first game that saw his team take a big 16-5 victory. He put up the second-most damage in the game with a 96.6 ADR. The second game of the series didn't start off the best for aizy, but that was the tale of the tape for his entire team. They all came out extremely flat, with Liquid taking an 11-4 lead into the half. aizy only managed a 7/18 KD in that opening half. The second half was a major comeback from his team, though. He recovered well with an 18/10 second half showing to help add fuel to the fire and get his team all the way to overtime. In the overtime rounds, he started with a nice double in the first round to kick them off nicely in what ended up as a 19-17 North win. They have secured a spot in the grand finals to take on G2.
Shuts down late rotation to push past Green Wall
June 1, 2017
aizy went 19/21 in North's close win over OpTic Gaming on Day 2 of the ESL Pro League Finals.
ANALYSIS
aizy was a big part of his team's early 5-0 lead, notching an entry frag in Round 4 and another in Round 5. He faded a bit after this with his next major contribution not coming until another entry frag in Round 12 that led to a 6-6 tie. He then picked up a double in Round 15 to bring the score to an 8-7 deficit going into the second half. While the second half was a big back-and-forth between the two teams, it was North that ended up coming out ahead in the late stages. aizy was once back in the narrative, with a double to shut down a rotation from OpTic in Round 29 and put his team on map point. They didn't lose this shot and locked up the 16-14 win.
Late entry frags pushes North past mouz
May 30, 2017
aizy posted a 25/22 KD in North's close win over mousesports on Day 1 of the ESL Pro League Finals.
ANALYSIS
aizy was a nice constant for North in this series. While he wasn't the most flashy or anything like that, he put together a strong game to help his team eventually prevail in overtime to take the game. It started off with a 3k in Round 3 before he fell off slightly when mouz started to make a strong comeback. He picked up a couple entry frags in the overtime rounds, which allowed North to take a narrow 19-17 win over mouz in this game.
Doomed by hapless second half
May 4, 2017
aizy tallied a 16/19 KD in North's tough 16-13 loss to Chiefs at IEM Sydney on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
aizy's first half was a bit rough, as his only highlight round was a 3k in Round 7. Despite his somewhat quiet showing, his team still ended the half up 10-5. The second half was a completely different story, though. He was the only player on North to pick up a kill in the first four rounds of the second half, as Chiefs began their big run. He notched doubles in the Round 21 and 22 losses before picking up another to match MSL in Round 27 to finally get a win. By that point it was just too late, though, as Chiefs easily pick up the final two rounds needed to lock up the 16-13 win.
