Offlane Death Prophet works out
May 18, 2018
kpii had a rough series but did just enough for Newbee to scrape the win against Invictus Gaming. The Chinese-Australian offlaner finished with a KDA of 4/6/16.
ANALYSIS
kpii's early game had him leave the laning stage as the poorest core in the game. The odd offlane Death Prophet finally showed up in the mid game. With perfect Exorcism usages, kpii managed to help his team take objectives across the map with his very defensive itemization.
Should build on his good Sand King game
May 14, 2018
Kpii had a quiet game but it was good enough for Newbee at MDL Changsha. The veteran offlaner finished with a KDA of 7/6/24.
ANALYSIS
Kpii's Doom quickly fell off in the series opener. His item progression was slow and his Doom Ultimate uses weren't really hitting the mark. Kpii managed to bounce back in the second game in the best way possible with Sand King. He harassed Raven's Phantom Lancer well and found a lot of farm for himself. His Blink Dagger at the 13-minute mark allowed him to control fights in Newbee's favor. Kpii's Sand King was involved in 20 of his team's 37 kills in the win.
Uphill series for Newbee's offlane
April 29, 2018
kpii played well despite losing 2-1 to Virtus.pro at EPICENTER XL. He finished with an overall KDA of 10/14/34.
ANALYSIS
In Game 1 kpii played Tidehunter but was never able to find any openings to land a fight-winning Ravage Newbee needed. They spent most of the game playing from behind, so even when kpii did get a Ravage off it was often negated by the Virtus.pro gold and level advantage. kpii finished with a 2/4/6 KDA. In Game 2 kpii took over the map for Newbee with a Naga Siren performance. He went for the Radiance illusion build, using it to keep the lanes constantly pushed out against Virtus.pro's lineup that was trying to end the game as quickly as possible. He finished with a 3/7/25 KDA but contributed much more than his stats suggest. In Game 3 kpii played Elder Titan core and actually looked like he might be able to help carry the game once again, but Virtus.pro swiftly put their foot down on any Newbee hopes of pulling off an upset. kpii set up some pretty nice fights, but VP just had too much of a lead for it to matter. He finished with a 5/3/3 KDA.
A sad case of choke city for Newbee offlane
April 2, 2018
Kpii played a tremendously poor series against Evil Geniuses at the Dota Asia Championships 2018. The veteran offlaner finished with a KDA of 2/9/8.
ANALYSIS
Kpii's Clockwerk was heavily outplayed by Sumail's Puck in Game 1. At one point in the game Puck had around 30 Last Hits while Kpii only had 10. Kpii was supposed to set the tempo for Newbee but his eight deaths enabled Evil Geniuses to take control of the game. The only time Kpii managed to build was Pipe of Insight. In Game 2, Kpii played his signature Enigma with the last pick of the draft. He built Hand of Midas and Black King Bar by the 20-minute mark but the Evil Geniuses train would not allow him to farm his Blink Dagger afterward. His only good Black Hole in the game was a solo usage on Troll Warlord which didn't really amount to much. Newbee conceded at the 24-minute mark.
Stops OG in their tracks
March 23, 2018
Kpii had an efficient series against OG in Dreamleague Season 9. The offlaner finished with a KDA of 5/10/23.
ANALYSIS
Kpii was key in stopping OG's Huskar cheese strategy in the series opener. His Enchantress worked wonders against N0tail. The OG carry never got going thanks to Kpii and single-handedly destroyed his opponent's early-game plans. In Game 2, Kpii had a more quiet performance on his Abaddon. He didn't really provide an impact for Newbee until he farmed his 27-minute Radiance.
Numerous deaths didn't slowdown Newbee offlaner
March 4, 2018
kpii died more times than he would have liked but he still more than effective for Newbee in their win against Vega Squadron at the Bucharest Major. The Aussie-Chinese offlaner finished with a KDA of 1/5//10.
ANALYSIS
kpii brought Underlord to the offlane in the only game of the series. He gave up First Blood but still managed to find a lot of farm early on. He stocked up on the tanky items with Pipe of Insight, Mekansm, and Crimson Guard to easily help his team take objectives. He eventually got himself a Blink Dagger in the late game to always be in a good position to Dark Rift his team out of a pinch.
Apalling zero assists game for Newbee offlane
February 23, 2018
Kpii's consistency was nowhere to be found in Newbee's defeat against Evil Geniuses in ESL One Katowice. The Australian-Chinese offlaner finished with a KDA of 3/10/0.
ANALYSIS
Kpii is known to be an enabler for the Newbee squad. He usually manages to make plays that lets his teammates shine, but against Evil Geniuses, Kpii looked like a deer in the headlights. He failed to gather a single assist for his team and was thoroughly shutdown by EG from the laning stage.
Sent down to losers bracket
February 21, 2018
kpii wasn't able to do much as Newbee fell to Team Kinguin 1-0 in the first round of ESL One Katowice. kpii finished with a 2/2/5 KDA.
ANALYSIS
Newbee saw Kinguin come out inspired and organized, and Newbee was not able to match either of those traits. Newbee fell behind early and watched the lead grow into a quick loss. kpii decided to last pick the Brewmaster, but was not able to get any sort of practice with it at Katowice. Newbee is now a single loss away from being eliminated as they fall to the losers bracket.
Excellent utility play from Newbee's offlane
February 21, 2018
Kpii had a quiet but impactful game in Newbee's sweep of Natus Vincere in ESL One Katowice 2018. The offlaner finished with a KDA of 0/11/11.
ANALYSIS
Kpii played Omniknight in the series opener. He struggled early on against Crystallize's Faceless Void, who can easily Time Walk his Purification bombs. Since kpii struggled early, he opted for the utility build, buying Arcane Boots and a Blink Dagger quickly after. It helped his positioning tremendously and allowed him to find clutch saves with ease. In Game 2, Kpii played Underlord in the offlane. His Solar Crest rush allowed Newbee to easily secure Roshan, which really helped Newbee's power spikes.
Earns a win after a rough series
February 2, 2018
kpii had a rough start to a 2-1 win vs Mineski at the fourth Starladder Invitational. He finished with an overall KDA of 6/15/47.
ANALYSIS
kpii started off the series with a very rough Tidehunter game. He hit pretty good Ravages, but also died in almost every fight. Those constant deaths really hurt his item and level progression, to the point that he became a relatively easy kill in the crucial late game. He finished with a 0/8/12 KDA. kpii played Underlord in Game 2. This was another rough game for kpii, but his hard work was actually rewarded this time. After a brutal lane phase in which he died five times, kpii managed to go the rest of the game with only a single death, finishing with a 2/6/18 KDA. In Game 3 kpii played Brewmaster. After getting beat down for two games, this was kpii's chance to finally inflict some punishment of his own. He was an extremely difficult kill at all stages of the game, and dished out considerable damage both in and out of his ultimate form. He finished with an impressive 4/1/17 KDA.
Jaw-dropping Black Holes from Newbee offlane
January 26, 2018
Kpii had an incredible series for Newbee in their win over Vici Gaming in ESL One Genting. The offlaner finished with a KDA of 17/3/12.
ANALYSIS
Kpii kicked off the series with Enigma in the offlane. He found a lot of farm for himself early on, even getting a quick Hand of Midas. His confidence in his Black Holes was so high that he rushed a Black King Bar instead of a Blink Dagger. The mentality worked out for him with the help of Kaka's perfect Song of the Siren into Black Hole setups. In Game 2, kpii did not lose his fiery form on his Tiny. He had a good laning stage, which he again used to set the tempo for Newbee.
Picks the worst time to play terribly
December 1, 2017
kpii had a terrible showing against Team Secret in DreamLeague. The veteran off laner finished with a KDA of 0/12/14.
ANALYSIS
kpii played Tidehunter in the opening game of the series. He was aggressively zoned out by the Secret supports, and he barely found any farm for himself. Due to his lack of items, kpii was often killed in the start of engagements. His Ravages were even stolen by Yapzor several times in the game. Game 2 wasn't a better story for kpii with his Omniknight. He played a bit better early but still lacked presence in the laning stage. His good timings with his Purifications and Guardian Angels helped his team, but with his lack of items, he still wasn't the best that he could be.
Performed well under pressure
November 4, 2017
kpii finished with a 1/2/5 KDA in Newbee's win over Virtus.pro in the lower bracket elimination rounds at the DotaPit Minor.
ANALYSIS
kpii played Magnus. This was a very high-pressure game for kpii, and he delivered exactly what his team needed from him. His Reverse Polarity was the majority of Newbee's teamfighting ability, and without him landing it they would have stood no chance.
Gets the job done in a solid performance
November 4, 2017
kpii finished with a 2/4/14 KDA in Newbee's win over OG in the lower bracket elimination rounds at the DotaPit Minor.
ANALYSIS
kpii played Axe. This wasn't the most impressive game from kpii, but he was still effective enough. Although he missed a lot of initiations, he managed to land enough of the ones that counted to deliver Newbee a win. He was exceptionally good at locking down Resolut1on's Slark, and really shut down Resolut1on's ability to snowball.
Keeps Game 2 close
November 2, 2017
kpii finished with an overall KDA of 12/17/37 in Newbee's 0-2 loss to Team Liquid at the DotaPit Minor.
ANALYSIS
In Game 1 kpii played Dark Seer. This was a tough game for kpii. A lot of Newbee's teamfight rested on his Vacuum. He was able to get off a couple of nice combos, but they were too few and far between to slow down the Liquid machine. kpii finished with a 5/8/17 KDA. In Game 2 kpii played Nature's Prophet. He played an admirable game, but it wasn't enough to break Newbee's brutal losing streak vs Liquid. kpii did a good job split pushing, and was able to give Newbee a real fighting chance, but they couldn't close things out and Liquid eventually wormed their way back to snatch the series away. kpii finished with a 7/9/20 KDA.
