Signed by Cloud 9
July 20, 2017
Cloud9 announced via their official Twitter that they have signed Team NP as their new Dota2 squad.
ANALYSIS
EternaLEnVy, MSS, Aui_2000, Fata and Pieliedie all return to a familiar place as members of Cloud9. While it remains to be seen if this move will be permanent, the squad will be competing under a new and yet old banner for The International 2017.

Through the qualifiers and onto Seattle
June 28, 2017
Team NP becomes the first team to advance from the North American qualifiers, finishing the group stage with an 8-1 record.
ANALYSIS
Though many North American teams have gone through a roster change in recent history, Team NP's changes looked the best when it counted the most. Dropping only one game to Team Red, Team NP fought off Team Freedom in a best-of-one playoff for the top spot and the first NA Regional ticket to The International 2017.

Headed to The International 2017
June 28, 2017
After defeating Clutch Gamers 2-0 in the winner's bracket final of the SEA regional qualifiers, Fnatic has earned a spot beside TNC in Seattle for The International 2017 in August.
ANALYSIS
With a 7-2 group stage record, Fnatic was edged out for the top spot by TNC, but they would not be denied in the bracket stage. Dispatching both of their opponents with quick 2-0 wins, Fnatic waltzed their way through the competition and closer to an Aegis of Champions.
Dota 2
Qualified through to The International
June 27, 2017
After finishing the round-robin group stage with an 8-1 record, Team Secret has secured their spot at The International 2017 this August.
ANALYSIS
Team Secret was one of the teams potentially on the cusp of receiving a direct invitation, but fell short. Going into the qualifier, they were clearly among the top teams and their impressive record reflects that. Secret's only loss was to Mousesports.
TNC
Dota 2
First to qualify for The International 2017
June 27, 2017
TNC Pro Team has become the first team overall to secure an invitation to The International 2017 in the regional qualifiers.
ANALYSIS
With an 8-1 overall record, TNC took the first place spot in the round-robin group stage, and locking in a spot at The International 2017. By taking first in the group stage, TNC gets to skip the phase 2 playoff bracket where a second team from SEA will secure a spot alongside them in Seattle this August.
Dota 2
Welcomed to the top with direct invite to The International 2017
June 19, 2017
Valve announced via their official Dota2 website on Monday the direct invitations and regional qualifier invitations for The International 2017. Team Liquid earned the fourth invitation out of the six available.
ANALYSIS
Team Liquid has long struggled to find its rhythm and groove, suffering though juxtaposing periods of dramatic highs and disastrous lows. It has been a slow buildup for Team Liquid, beginning with a disastrous finish at DAC, a decent finish at Kiev and culminating with first place finishes over TNC and a red hot Evil Geniuses at Starladder and Epicenter 2017 respectively. Team Liquid will look to keep their momentum heading into The International and hope to add a long coveted Aegis of Champions to their trophy case.
Dota 2
International 2017 invitation confirmed
June 19, 2017
According to the official Dota 2 website, Virtus.pro is among the six directly invited teams to The International 2017.
ANALYSIS
Virtus.pro has been a fearsome competitor for the past year, but apart from The Summit and some smaller CIS events it has yet to claim a first-place finish. At the Kiev Major Virtus.pro took second place after a very close 2-3 loss to OG in the finals. This performance is likely what secured their invite, but a recent win at The Summit 7 made it all but certain.
OG
Dota 2
Invite to The International 2017 confirmed
June 19, 2017
To no one's surprise, it was confirmed on the official Dota 2 website that OG have received a direct invitation to The Invitational 2017.
ANALYSIS
Of all the teams in contention for International 2017 invites, OG was the most obvious choice especially after Wings was disbanded earlier this year. OG's consecutive first place finishes at both Valve Majors, Boston and Kiev, all but guaranteed its invite. Between Boston and Kiev it finished second at Dota Pit and the Dota 2 Asia Championships. OG's recent performances have been lackluster though, 5th-6th at the Manila Masters and 7th-8th at EPICENTER: Moscow. There is still one premier event for OG to play between now and The International 2017, the Mars Dota 2 League finals in early July.
Dota 2
Direct invite to The International 2017 secured
June 19, 2017
According to the official Dota 2 website, iG has received one of the six direct invitations to The International 2017 in August.
ANALYSIS
iG's rise to prominence began early this year in April when it won the Dota 2 Asia Championships with in a convincing 3-0 series against OG. Since then, it hasn't secured another tournament win, but its finishes have all been good. iG secured 3rd-4th place at the Kiev Major and StarLadder iLeague Invitational, followed by 5th-6th place at the Manila Masters and EPICENTER: Moscow. Hopefully for iG this downward trend will not continue, because in top form they are a serious contender to take home the Aegis of Champions.
Dota 2
Silently snag last direct invite to The International 2017
June 19, 2017
Valve announced via their official Dota2 website the regional and direct invitations to The International 2017 on Monday. Newbee secured the sixth and final invitation.
ANALYSIS
Newbee, by poll of public opinion, would likely not be considered among the global elite teams. They have not achieved many high profile victories so much as they have lurked in the shadows, winning just enough to keep themselves in contention. After a poor showing at the Kiev Major, Newbee failed to qualify for both Epicenter and The Summit 7. Ultimately their first place finishes at ZOTAC Cup Masters and Galaxy Battles this past month, along with a string of second-place finishes to Evil Geniuses earlier in the year, allowed Newbee to claim the final invite to this years International.
Dota 2
Receive a direct invite to The International 2017
June 19, 2017
Valve announced via their official Dota2 website Monday, the direct and regional qualifier invitations for The International 2017. Evil Geniuses received the third direct invite of six.
ANALYSIS
After its recent hot streak, it comes as no shock that Evil Geniuses was invited to this years International. Having spent much of the year on the fringe of elite team status, Evil Geniuses came roaring to life at The Manila Masters and subsequently at Epicenter. Taking first place over Newbee at Manila Masters and then taking second to Epicenter defending champions, Team Liquid, Evil Geniuses is undoubtedly in top form heading into The International and will look to make a run for a second Aegis.

Dota 2 squad released
June 4, 2017
In an announcement on their website Ninjas in Pyjamas confirmed that they will be dropping their Dota 2 roster with no plans to find another.
ANALYSIS
This announcement comes after four months of consistently disappointing results and a failed roster change. Since this comes after the Valve roster lock deadline, the players will have the option to remain together and attempt to qualify for The International 2017 in August.
Dota 2
Forced to withdraw from The Summit 7 by visa issues
June 1, 2017
In a post on the team's official Facebook page it was announced that Clutch Gamers would be unable to attend the upcoming Summit 7 LAN in California, USA.
ANALYSIS
This is the latest in a long history of Asian and Southeast Asian teams being forced to withdraw from a tournament due to visa issues. Clutch Gamers won the SEA qualifier in an very convincing 3-0 win over WarriorsGaming.Unity. Their replacement has yet to be announced, but if it is another team from SEA it seems unlikely that they would be able to secure a visa in the 13 days before The Summit 7 beings (June 14).
Dota 2
Picked up by Planet Odd esports
May 31, 2017
In a tweet today Planet Odd esports announced that they have signed Thunderbirds.
ANALYSIS
Thunderbirds first rose to fame as Digital Chaos when they made an incredible run at The International 2016 to secure second place against Wings Gaming. Since then, their results have been mediocre at best. The team's first LAN competition will be at Epicenter starting on June 4. Until then, you can catch them playing the DreamLeague Season 7 North American qualifiers.

May 23, 2017
In a post on their website, Dreamhack announced that SG-esports would be joining the DreamLeague to replace Team NP.
ANALYSIS
Team NP recently withdrew from DreamLeague, and SG-esports were invited to take their place. The Brazilian squad rose to fame at the Kiev Major, where they upset and eliminated Team Secret. Their first match is Tues. May 30 at 6:30 p.m CEST.
