Immortals picks up Team Phoenix

Immortals announced via their official Twitter that they had acquired the Team Phoenix roster to compete for the upcoming Dota2 season.
ANALYSIS
Immortals who have been a powerhouse in other esports is finally stepping into the Dota2 scene. Their roster was once an incredibly powerful SEA team, but, now reunited, Immortals will bring the team to compete in the North American region.

MVP Phoenix reunite as Team Phoenix

In a tweet today, QO confirmed the roster for a new Korean team. Team Phoenix will consist of QO, MP, ForEV, DuBu, and Febby.
ANALYSIS
This roster comes as excellent news for any fans of the classic MVP.Phoenix lineups that took western fans by storm. The Korean squad became famous for their style of hyper-aggressive play, coined 'caveman Dota'. The individual members of the team failed to find the same success on their own, so this new team's success will be very important.

New roster and team name revealed

In a weibo post today, the new Vici Gaming rosters were revealed.
ANALYSIS
The old Vici Gaming.J roster has been completely shuffled except for rOtk who will be moving to the coaching role, and the team has undergone a re-branding. The team's name moving forward will be VGJ.Thunder. The five players on the team will be Sylar, Ghost, Yang, Fade and Ayo. Ayo and Fade are relative newcomers to the professional scene who spent the past year playing for the Vici Gaming Potential squad.

New roster announced

Vici Gaming revealed the organization's new Dota 2 rosters for the upcoming competitive season in a weibo post.
ANALYSIS
The new Vici main roster features Paparazi, Ori, eLeVeN, LaNm and Fenrir. This is a very strong combination of some of the top Chinese talent, featuring a healthy mix of old and new faces. The veteran experience of the team's support players, LaNm and Fenrir, should prove invaluable to the two younger cores on the team. Additionally, eLeVeN provides a very stable anchor in the offlane position.

Leviathan Reborn

Andrew Jenkins announced via his personal Twitter that Leviathan had assembled a new squad for the upcoming season.
ANALYSIS
The new Leviathan consists of BSJ, Noblewingz, Jenkins, Newsham and Slayer. BSJ has bounced around from team to team, most recently playing with Team Freedom. Slayer, his former teammate on Enemy will be switching from the middle lane to hard support for the upcoming season. If nothing else this squad will surely be exciting to watch.

Dota 2 roster disbands
August 29, 2017
In a post on the team's official Facebook page, SG e-sports announced that its Dota 2 team is disbanded.
ANALYSIS
SG e-sports rose to fame when they qualified for the Kiev Major and managed to upset Team Secret, which had dominated in the group stages. Unfortunately SG couldn't keep up this standard of results, and failed to qualify for The International 7. The post stated that the move came at the request of the players, but that the SG organization would be fielding another Dota 2 team soon.

Announce their new roster

Warriors Gaming Unity announce their new roster on Monday via their official Facebook page. The new roster is as follows: Meracle, Feero, Velo, sQreen and flysolo.
ANALYSIS
Warriors Gaming Unity is trying to fill the power vacuum left by the dissolution of Team Faceless in the SEA region, by scooping up some of the better players. Meracle is well known for his prowess with Clutch Gamers and Mineski after, where Velo is formerly of Geek Fam and MVP. The team has also chosen to add some international flavor with the inclusion of Feero, who was compLexity gaming's most successful mid-laner throughout their tumultuous 2016-17 season. Despite this new roster, WGU will have their work cut out for them as the SEA region is looking stronger everyday.

Confirms no changes

TNC confirmed via their official Facebook page that their TI7 roster would be sticking together as they head into the upcoming season.
ANALYSIS
TNC's current roster was formed shortly before The International 2017 and despite not placing as high as they may have liked, they were certainly formidable. The players and the organization obviously feel that if given the chance to grow together their squad can reach new heights.

mousesports manager Madao announced on his Twitch stream that mousesports would be "sticking together" for the upcoming season.
ANALYSIS
Mousesports is usually known for quickly picking up teams as they get hot and dropping them even faster when they turn cold. This move marks the first time since 2013 that mousesports will have had a steady team.

Confirm no roster changes entering the 2017-18 season

VirtusPro announced via their official Twitter that they would be making no changes to their roster for the upcoming season.
ANALYSIS
It should come as no surprise that VirtusPro isn't tinkering with their lineup. They have the best squad the CIS region has seen in a long time and arguably the best carry in the world right now. After finishing 5th at The International 2017 and 2nd at the Kiev Major, VirtusPro are happy with their success thus far and think they have room to improve together.

Cloud9 announced via their official Twitter that they have signed Team NP as their new Dota2 squad.
ANALYSIS
EternaLEnVy, MSS, Aui_2000, Fata and Pieliedie all return to a familiar place as members of Cloud9. While it remains to be seen if this move will be permanent, the squad will be competing under a new and yet old banner for The International 2017.

Through the qualifiers and onto Seattle

Team NP becomes the first team to advance from the North American qualifiers, finishing the group stage with an 8-1 record.
ANALYSIS
Though many North American teams have gone through a roster change in recent history, Team NP's changes looked the best when it counted the most. Dropping only one game to Team Red, Team NP fought off Team Freedom in a best-of-one playoff for the top spot and the first NA Regional ticket to The International 2017.

After defeating Clutch Gamers 2-0 in the winner's bracket final of the SEA regional qualifiers, Fnatic has earned a spot beside TNC in Seattle for The International 2017 in August.
ANALYSIS
With a 7-2 group stage record, Fnatic was edged out for the top spot by TNC, but they would not be denied in the bracket stage. Dispatching both of their opponents with quick 2-0 wins, Fnatic waltzed their way through the competition and closer to an Aegis of Champions.

After finishing the round-robin group stage with an 8-1 record, Team Secret has secured their spot at The International 2017 this August.
ANALYSIS
Team Secret was one of the teams potentially on the cusp of receiving a direct invitation, but fell short. Going into the qualifier, they were clearly among the top teams and their impressive record reflects that. Secret's only loss was to Mousesports.

TNC Pro Team has become the first team overall to secure an invitation to The International 2017 in the regional qualifiers.
ANALYSIS
With an 8-1 overall record, TNC took the first place spot in the round-robin group stage, and locking in a spot at The International 2017. By taking first in the group stage, TNC gets to skip the phase 2 playoff bracket where a second team from SEA will secure a spot alongside them in Seattle this August.
